Stop. Drop. And Play.
Confession: I'm in Puerto Rico enjoying the beach, the wildly colorful buildings of San Juan, exploring fortresses built in the 1500s, and am about to go on a trek through the rain forest, so this is going to be short and sweet.
Another confession: Playtime is crucial to my well-being. And I know I'm not alone here.
But how many of us actually give ourselves permission to play, to travel, to not have a schedule, to be a kid in the world and explore? There are a million and one reasons not to do it.
But this is life, (insert the 30+ cliches we all know about living like we're dying, yolo, etc. here) which means we have options. When we break out of the mold of our everyday responsibilities we allow room for expansion, growth and more knowledge in a way that doesn't hurt.
The kids are calling, so I'm outta here. Enjoy your week and try to find some playtime today. Be silly, talk in funny accents at dinner, have a dance party in your living room. Break the monotony and surprise the people who know you best by being totally unpredictable.
Tap into your kid like qualities and enjoy some playtime today.
